How Can I Change My DNS or NameServers?

How do people find your website? In order for people to find your site, you will need to configure DNS and change or set the nameservers. You can either use ours, AlliedHosting nameservers, or use the third-party name servers. Either way, you would need to configure them so your domain name works with your AlliedHosting account.

First Option: Use AlliedHosting NameServers (recommended)

The recommended route for most customers is to use AlliedHosting's nameservers since they are automatically configured to work with AlliedHosting hosting accounts.

Step 1: Learn the NameServers for Your Hosting Account:

NS5.ALLIEDSERVE.COM
NS6.ALLIEDSERVE.COM

Step 2: Changing NameServers

If you purchased your domain from AlliedHosting, then you can manage it online.

If you did NOT purchase your domain from us, we are not able to change the nameservers. Please contact the place where you bought the domain and ask how to make the name server updates. (Most domain registrars have a tool so you can do this yourself.) Contact us if you have additional questions about this.

You will require to remove your registrar's current nameservers and replace them with the AlliedHosting name servers from your initial welcome email. Contact us if you have additional questions about this.

Second Option: Use NameServers Elsewhere (for advanced users)

For some advanced users, this may be optimal or preferred to use different nameservers. This by the way requires more maintenance, since it is not automatically updated like AlliedHosting nameservers will.  We can't provide any support for this, but most certainly the users who are using this option are already familiar with the challenges at hand.
